The document signed by the President of the State related to the general elections was submitted to the Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD:  The document signed by President Dr. Arif Alvi regarding the general elections was presented in the Supreme Court, the response was submitted with the signatures of the grade 22 officer of the President's House.

On behalf of the President of the country, he expressed his consent to give the date of elections on February 8. The Election Commission submitted the election notification to the Supreme Court on February 8, while the Attorney General submitted a copy of the election notification to the Supreme Court.

The court, while dealing with all the petitions related to the elections, wrote in its order that after the dissolution of the National Assembly, there was a disagreement between the President and the Election Commission, the four provincial advocate generals did not object to the order, lawyer PTI said. The President's letter to the Election Commission was also shown. In the letter, the president asked the commission to consult with political parties and provinces while also taking guidance from the judiciary. No response was given by the Election Commission to this letter of the President.

The court wrote in its order that the Supreme Court has no role in the matter of giving the date, the President is the highest office, I wonder how the President came to this conclusion, if the President wanted an opinion, he could have taken an opinion under Article 186. Every constitutional office holder and constitutional institution, including the Election Commission and the President, are bound by the Constitution. Violation of the Constitution has serious consequences. Knowledge of the Constitution is not optional. The court came, the Supreme Court is aware that we cannot interfere with the powers of the President and the Election Commission.

The Supreme Court wrote in the order that the whole country suffered from anxiety due to not giving the date of elections, the bigger the position, the bigger the responsibility. The constitution mentions the oath of the President and Election Commission members. A conducive environment for elections is the fundamental right of every citizen and this responsibility rests on those who have taken this oath. Both the President or the Election Commission have a great responsibility. The Chief Election Commissioner, members and the President take oath, the people cannot be kept away from the implementation of the Constitution by the President or the Election Commission.

In the court order, it was said that the question of constitutional validity came accidentally in the history of Pakistan for 15 years, but now the time has come that we should not only follow the constitution but also look at the country's constitutional history. have to suffer.

The Prime Minister did not have the authority to dissolve the National Assembly, the then Prime Minister created a constitutional crisis by dissolving the Assembly. The Supreme Court unanimously decided that the decision to dissolve the National Assembly during the PTI era was unconstitutional. In the case of the dissolution of the assembly, a judge said that the Parliament should take action against the President under Article 6. Used what was not theirs, did not use the authority that they should have done, the people of Pakistan have the right to hold general elections in the country.

The Attorney General played a role in arranging a meeting between the President and the Election Commission and the matter was resolved. The President and the Election Commission have given the date for the general elections in the entire country. The Election Commission will issue the election schedule after the constituencies. Elections will be held on February 8 inshallah, all the law officers have not raised any objection on the election date, it is expected that after completing all the preparations, the Election Commission will release the schedule.

At the end of the hearing, Justice Athar Minullah remonstrated that the Supreme Court knows how to implement it, while the Chief Justice remonstrated that if anyone could not get a decision, he should go home. If they are created, they will also violate the constitution, there is an independent media, we will see them too.

After the court order, the Supreme Court disposed of all the petitions related to the elections.
